All Sikhs who are full members of the Khalsa have 5 symbols to remind them of certain parts of their faith. All of the symbols begin with the letter ‘k’ so they are known as the 5 Ks.

kachera

They stand for modesty and they allowed Sikhs to move more easily in battle.

kangha

This is used to keep the hair tidy. It is a symbol of discipline.

kara

A circle is a symbol of God who has no begining and no end.

kesh

The hair should be kept natural and never cut.

kirpan

This weapon shows that Sikhs are prepared to fight for their beliefs.
