Sikhism Started in India in a area called the Punjab. |

The religion was started by Guru Nanak. Guru means religious teacher. |
Sikhs worship in a temple called a Gurdwara. This is the Golden Temple at Amritsar. |
The Sikh Holy book is called the Guru Granth Sahib. It is treated with a great deal of respect. |
This is a chauri it is used to show respect to the Guru Granth Sahib. |
This flag is called the Nishan Sahib. On it you can see the Sikh symbol. |
The belief that everyone is equal is very important for Sikhs. They show they everyone is equal by sharing a meal after worship called the Langar. |
